Before I tried Barre for the first time, most people told me that it was great but not fun. They said you will tone muscles you didn’t even know you had, but the class is not enjoyable. No pain no gain, right? I hesitated for a long time before giving it try. I often prefer high intensity/fun workouts (with the exception of yoga of course), so I didn’t think I would enjoy Barre at all. It is also derived from Ballet – it all didn’t seem fun to me at all.
Was I wrong? Let’s just say I thoroughly enjoy Exhale Soho Barre classes with Natalie Bridges and have returned more than once. There is rhythm, great music, a great and upbeat instructor, and unique exercises. It is different from any other class or workout I have done before. Most importantly… that soreness the next day felt SO GREAT. I felt soreness in places I never felt before. Weird parts of my ass were sore. It truly gave me the feeling that Barre is highly effective and unique.
If you are interested in truly toning your body, I highly recommend adding Barre to your weekly workouts.
