If you are looking for a truly authentic, almost historical, boxing club, look no further – Trinity Boxing is just that. It’s set up like a traditional boxing club, almost like a garage, with a ring and other training elements spread around randomly. This place is really cool and makes you kind of feel like a badass. The “classes” are barely classes. An instructor simply makes you do different exercises in rounds, ranging from jump rope, burpees, sit ups, jumping jacks, etc. Each round ends with a bell. This is your warm up. Then you do a round of combos in the mirror. Then you will do combos with a bag, pads, and a partner. The hour is very varied but the pad work with the instructor is the most fun and where you really get better at your reaction time and at boxing itself.
It is a full-body and really fun work out. You get to throw punches and get better at it! What’s not to love? The instructors were extermely friendly, helpful, and eager to make you a better boxer. The next day my arms and shoulders were KILLING me. But- what really hurt were my wrists. The next day I could barely pick up a pen to write. This was my first time boxing, so maybe that’s why?
This was the first time I tried a class with friends and I have to say that I was glad I was not alone in it. My friends and I were happy to have each other’s support to say the least. It could be a bit intimidating coming here by yourself, but you would definitely get used to it and have a blast anyway!
